FM Static currently only has two members, Trevor McNevan (vocalist and guitarist) and Steve Augustine (drummer), although there were originally four members, John Bunner (guitarist) and Justin Smith (bassist). They are from Toronto, Ontario and are signed by Tooth & Nail Records.

In 2003 the band released their first album titled “What Are You Waiting For”, and they toured from 2003 to 2005. Bunner retired after a few shows, so Justin’s brother, Jeremy, was brought in to fill in.

August 1, 2006, they release their second album, “Critically Ashamed” featuring the single “Waste of Time”. They did not tour for this album because the Smith brothers no longer played for them and so FM Static became a two-piece band that brought in studio musicians to fill in for other roles. There was only one official single, although “Tonight” and “Moment of Truth” became huge on the Internet.

On April 7, 2009 “Dear Diary” was released. It is a concept album telling the story of a fictional boy who goes through difficulties of life, love and faith, which are told through diary entries.

April 5, 2011, their fourth studio album was released, “My Brain Says Stop, But My Heart Says Go!”.
