Juno FanFare

Saturday, March 31

Once again fans of Canadian music were reunited at the Juno Fan Fare, a popular event from the Juno weekend. The Fan Fare was held by the St-Laurent Centre shopping mall this year, in Ottawa. Greeted by the screaming fans, many Canadian artists took the stage for signing sessions. Hosted by the entertaining and very fashionable Liz Trinnear and Jesse Giddings from MuchMusic, the Fan Fare attracted hordes of teenagers. The day was also broadcasted live on the MuchMusic website.

Many short interviews with all the acts and an acoustic performance by the rising-star Carly Rae Jepsen of her #1 hit single ‘Call Me Maybe’ kept us on our feet. Also, the Toronto native D-Sisive took the stage for a few rhymes.

Tons of enthusiastic fans –like us- lined up to meet Simple Plan and Down With Webster, who had their own tables for the signings. By the time everyone had met their favorite artists (from Neverest to Deadmau5 to Karl Wolf just to name a few) Liz and Jesse had given to the crowd a bunch of shirts and other gifts. Two girls even won tickets to the JUNOS and attended the award show!

Here’s a complete list of the artists that generously took part of the event: Alyssa Reid, Anjulie, Carly Rae Jepsen, Classified, D-Sisive, deadmau5, Down With Webster, JRDN, Jully Black, Kardinal Offishall, Karl Wolf, Mia Martina, Neverest, Shawn Hook, Simple Plan, Swollen Members and Victoria Duffield!
