The Canadas Talent team headed over to both Lebreton Flats and the Byward Market to catch some of the the action and excitement! I think it’s time we share with you our adventures
We were there on 4 different days:Canadas Talent – Day 1 of Bluesfest (July 6th):
One of summers warmest days yet (40 degrees!) included performances by Lights and Faber Drive at the Hard rock cafe stage.
We started our day with an interview with Faber Drive where we learned a lot about those boys, and got some of YOUR questions answered as well!
Next, we watched Lights light up the stage with her bright smile, her bubbly personality and her killer voice. The crowd enjoyed singing along to some favorites such as “Ice”, “Saviour” and “February Air”. We really enjoyed her heartfelt rendition of “Pretend”.
Next up, was Faber Drive who played tons of energetic dance-y songs such as “Give Him Up” and “G-Get Up and Dance” and some of their classic songs like “Tongue Tied”. They also did an excellent job with their version of the song “Just What I Needed” (by “The Cars”). It has been stuck in head ever since. They also added a punk-rock edge to Owlcity’s “Fireflies” and got the crowd screaming with their pop song medley. Overall, despite the heat, it was a night to remember!
Stay tuned for when we release our exclusive interview with them
For now, here’s a clip of their performance:
