Fall 2011 featured several new releases with artists Hedley, Down With Webster, LIGHTS, Marianas Trench, Nickelback, and the New Cities (to name a few), all coming out with brand new albums around the same time. What do all these new tunes mean? Touring, of course!

As 2012 has arrived, people are planning what to do this year and are looking forward to new adventures. Here at Canadas Talent, we are thinking about all the awesome new things happening in the Canadian entertainment industry. Here are a few concerts to check out this year:

There’s the Simple Plan tour, for their album Get Your Heart On!, which will also feature Marianas Trench, All Time Low, and These Kids Wear Crowns as openers on their Canadian tour dates in February. Simple Plan will also be touring across Asia in January and Europe in March. More tour info: http://www.simpleplan.com/event/

Down With Webster is coming back with their third annual WINtour, promoting their new album Time To Win, Vol. 2. This tour isrunning from January to February with several Canadian and American dates announced. More tour dates are to be posted soon! More tour info: http://www.facebook.com/downwithwebster?sk=app_123966167614127

LIGHTS will be heading on tour in support of her latest album, Siberia with plenty of dates across North America and Europe. Her tour takes off in mid-January and runs until the end of March. More tour info: http://music.iamlights.com/tour/

Hedley will be setting off on the “Shipwrecked” tour to promote their new album “Storms”. Fellow Canadians Classified, Karl Wolf and Kay will be joining the rock band on their cross Canada tour. More tour info: http://www.hedleyonline.com/tour/

City and Colour (who has been announced to perform at this year’s JUNO awards) will be on tour through January and February mostly in Canada but there’s also a few shows in the states. More tour info: http://cityandcolour.ca/tour/

What all these artists have in common is that they have all released an album in 2011. Coincidence? Maybe not. It seems to work well when a lot of Canadian artists coordinate their album cycles. More albums means more music and more touring right? That way tours can be arranged together, a fans dream come true!

And above are just a few of the numerous shows taking place this year… there’s plenty more to look forward to!
